It's very easy to get used to the left-click vs. middle-click distinctions that
Firefox supports.  If you are used to middle-clicking URLs in Firefox to open a
new tab, and then you go to Thunderbird and the middle-click does nothing, it
makes for a frustrating experience.

Setting the following in prefs.js:

user_pref("network.protocol-handler.app.http", "/home/custom/bin/firefox-open");
user_pref("network.protocol-handler.app.https", "/home/custom/bin/firefox-open");

allows one to customize the left-click action.  There seems to be no way to
customize the middle-click action.

Perhaps this is a specific case of the more general problem of being able to run
custom programs/built-in code in reaction to events ( such as middle-click of URL )?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
middle-click on URL.  
Actual Results:  
Nothing.

Expected Results:  
Whatever I told it to do.

I wish to have a new window opened by default in Firefox, but a new tab, when
middle-clicking from TB. As  (Nickolay Ponomarev said in bug 285844 that is a
duplicate of this one)

I confirm this bug too.

I too have Firefox set to open a new tab when I center click.  I also
have it set to open outside calls to it in a new tab.

When I recieve a URL in my email, I typically center click on it at least
twice, if not more, before I realize I have to left click on the it.
Although I have not yet reverted to swearing when it happens, it is still
very frustrating.  

Sign me up for this bug!

What Happened to the "Add Cc:" pull down?  I hope this post automatically
