273101 - starting but showing some erromessages from translation files (German)

After the installation the browser runs but does not show any menu or browser
specific window content but only a yellow background with some red error text
(see actual results). You can't use the browser to browse.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Istallieren von
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/1.0/win32/de-DE/Firefox
Setup 1.0.exe
2. FireFox starten
Actual Results:  
Wenn FireFox startet erscheint ein Fenster, ohne Titel, nur mit Icon oben links
und gelbem Hintergrund mit rotem Text der wie folgt lautet:

        <key id="key_inspectPage" key="&inspectorTaskCmd.commandkey;" 
---------------------------------------^
        modifiers="accel,shift" command="Tasks:InspectPage"/>

Eine Referenz ist in der Übersetzung nicht korrekt festgelegt, so dass FireFox
nicht am richtigen Ort nach den Inhalten der "Variablen" sucht.

Expected Results:  
Der Browser sollte eigentlich ganz normal starten und das Browserfenster mit
Tabs, Menüs und so weiter anzeigen.

This seems like a problem with old profiles, could you please test it with a
clean profile, or start firefox  with -safe-mode?

Also possible is a wrong plugin. Do you have any plugins installed?

I installed FireFox into a new separate folder, I think this should create a new
separate profile. I also started FireFox with -safe-mode but I got again the
same error.

Yes I have plugins installed. I disabled all plug-ins in an older version and
tried again, but still the same error. I don't think a plug-in that works with
the english version should not work with the german one. In 0.9.3 everyting worked.

I really think, there is some error in the translation of the menus. The en-US
version works perfectly. I had once encountered similar problems with Mozilla
Suite and the german translation which were solved some versions later in a
nightly build, without me reporting them.

No, it won't. Please rename your current profile and let Firefox create a clean
one. You can rename your old profile back after checking.

I created a new Windows NT userprofile, there it worked.

And now I did the same thing with the profile firefox cerates in the folder of
the current user "quak" : e.g. "C:\Dokumente und
Einstellungen\quak\Anwendungsdaten\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles" where I renamed the
folder and let firefox create a new profile with the profile manager.
After that I thought, maybe the problem is in the profile itself.

Indeed: the folder "chrome" of older versions is actually a problem for the
german version.

Resolution: I renamed the folder "chrome" in the user profile folder and tried
again. It worked!
I only have to reinstall the plugins in order to be able to use them from the
menu "Extras". Their menu entries are gone.
