Bug 209124 refers to User Agent switching. If you switch your User Agent to soem code such as Internet Explorer can you then upload?

No, in bug 209124 User Agent Switcher was the *problem* (identify as IE, you get IE-specific code) not the solution. Sachin: the problem is, to avoid yet another worksforme (because, well, it does work for most of us), you are going to have to be the one to figure out what's different for you than for the rest of us. Do you have a non-English version of Windows? Do all the files you are attaching have non-ASCII characters in the filename? Does it work if you only try to attach C:\t.txt, with no risk of confusion over characters in directory names or filenames?

I tried with C:\a.txt (1Kb) it got attached. I tried with C:\a.exe (1Kb).Works fine I tried with c:\a.txt (450kb).It shows Sending request... then gives a message box "Document contains no data" What i understand is that when we attach any file in yahoo it shows a progress page showing the progress of attachment. Then once attached it shows the attachement page showing the attached document. But if here there might be some problem with firefox in showing this progress page.

Tested with 3 different Attachments (Zip, PPS, Jpeg) with no problems with the Firefox Trunk Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050406 Firefox/1.0+ The "Document contains no data" could also occur, when there is a timeout, or some problem with the yahoo server. Reporter: Do you see this reported problem with a recent build such as Firefox 1.02 Mozilla 1.7.6 ?
Version: unspecified → 1.0 Branch
Think this may be related to bug 292407.
When is someone going to fix this problem? IE works with Yahoo and Firefox doesn't. I can see many people reporting a similar bug - ever since Firefox upgraded Yahoo Mail hasn't worked properly. Specifically for me - no attachments or replies.

(In reply to comment #6) > When is someone going to fix this problem? I am fairly sure that the Yahoo folk don't work with Firefox and I am guessing that not many of the Firefox folk work with Yahoo. To get your problem fixed, someone will need to provide the basic bug information (reproduction recipe): What you were doing? What was expected? What was observed?
This bug appears to be related to 'no mouse event' bugs??? It still exists. There is a recent Firegox forum question about it from 'tinacap' which has gone unanswered. The problem is constant. IE works fine in Yahoo mail to attach files. In Firefox, the "browse" button works and finds the file to be attached but the "attach files" and "cancel" buttons do not function as buttons. There is apparently no mouse event. Must hit Firefox previous page button to get out of the page. Looking into page source for the Yahoo page shows that these two buttons ('attach files' and 'cancel' both at top and bottom of page) are in what is called "globalbuttonbar" either top or bottom. The buttons in the globalbuttonbar don't work at all. Can someone look into this and see what's up? I don't have the programming background to investigate thoroughly. I spoke with Yahoo Mail help and they couldn't help, said that Firefox is not a supported program.
One other thing -- don't know if it is relevant but in IE, permission for sub-frames to navigate across different domains must be allowed when using the 'attach files' button. Is it possible that Firefox is somehow blocking this??
From Page Source:
<div id="globalbuttonbartop" class="globalbuttonbar composebuttons">
<span class="first">
<button type="button" name="attachtop" value="Attach Files" onclick="BeginAttach();">Attach Files</button>
<button type="button" name="canceltop" value="Cancel" onclick="Done();">Cancel</button>
</span>
<span class="last"><a href="javascript:Help('http://us.rd.yahoo.com/mail_us/help/?http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/sbc/mail/context/context-48.html')">Norton Antivirus Disclaimer</a></span>
</div>

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060916 Minefield/3.0a1 (In reply to comment #8) > This bug appears to be related to 'no mouse event' bugs??? It still exists. > ... I may be out of my depth, but if this bug still exists, it needs to have either a) a recipe for reproduction, or b) a testcase. I can't guarantee that a fix will be forthcoming, but once there is a testcase then it becomes easy to check whether or not there is a defect in Firefox, and if so, how to proceed.
