User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 JavaScript is the root of most evil (Dialers, Trojans etc.), so it's disabled on my systems by default. Unfortunately there are still some sites requiring JavaScript. What I request is either - an option to add some sites to a "trusted" Domain (like it is possible with cookies) where JavaScript is executed) or - an option to enable JavaScript in a certain tab or at least - have a hotkey like in Opera to quick-enable JavaScript if it's needed without having to click through dozens of menus. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Take a look at IEs zone model or Operas Hotkeys Actual Results: - Expected Results: -

me too. I have javascript disabled also due to it's only use up to this point being malicious hackerism and adware, however, google has now seen fit to come up with something really useful (google maps) that requires javascript. I would like to be able to enable javascript either only for google maps (i.e. per site confiuration), or on the fly within the context of a particular tab/window. as it is, google maps is something I can not use unless I close all my tabs, enable javascript, do my google maps thing, disable javascript then get back to what I was doing...
There are a number or extensions which let you enable and disable JavaScript quickly. This works ok IF you always remember to disable JavaScript after you leave a trusted site. Unfortunately I often forget that. You can also tell Mozilla/Firefox which domains may execute JavaScript via about:config or user.js. This is awkward and error-prone. So I would really like to see a UI to manage the list of sites which are trusted to execute JavaScript. Konqueror has a rather nice UI for this.

what extensions? I couldn't find any on the mozilla extensions site. also, how do you config these using user.js or about:config? I only found 4 flags, all boolean in about:config...
