Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 I made the mistake of right clicking and saving an image directly to a floppy disk. Now everytime I save a file, it prompts there is no disk in that drive, even when I want to save to the desktop. Oh, it still saves to the desktop, but the prompt that there is no disk, still appears. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Save a file directly to a floppy disk in the disk drive. 2. Next time, save to the desktop, without a disk in the drive. 3. Error message asking where is the disk. Actual Results: Error message about the disk drive keeps appearing, even after restarting the computer. What I did next: Changed the directory of where files are initially saved. (Problem still exists) Uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled. (Problem still exists) Dell 8400 Windows XP. Expected Results: The software should save directly to the desktop, just like the preferences state. It shouldn't be searching the A: drive each time.

Firefox defaults to saving to the last place you saved something. If you save to a floppy, then remove that floppy, the prompt will come up the next time you try to save something. Pressing cancel allows you to save somewhere else and doesn't ask you again next time. This is a Windows limitiation and not a Firefox limitation, because I've seen it happen in every app that uses the standard windows filepicker dialog.
More information: It is actually right-clicking "Save link as..." prompt. Whether images or saving files, the error comes up. Clicking on cancelling doesn't solve the issue when the browser is relaunched. It alerts "firefox.exe - No Disk" making me think that Firefox is trying to access it as well. It eventually saves to the desktop, but the error will not go away. (This is the primary way that I save files, either through webmail or .mov extensions where it's easier to save the movie by "Save link as...") Although I am new at this and it is probably just corrupted on my computer, the error continues. I am sure the error is repeatable if you were to go through the same steps. If it's just my computer, then at least this error might help others, unless it is a bug.
