User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0

The page up and page down keys on my PowerBook G4 do not have any effect in
Firefox. This applies to all web sites.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to any web page (drupal.org is semi-randomly chosen).
2. Click in the HTML content area of the page.
3. Press page down (fn + down arrow on 17" PowerBook G4 keyboard).

Actual Results:
Nothing.

Expected Results:
Page scrolls downward.

Doesn't happen on Windows version of Firefox.

A very few web sites *do* scroll properly. Perhaps sites that don't have edit
fields? Or perhaps sites where I haven't clicked in the content area?
WFM with the same build, PB G4 17", whether I've clicked in the content area or
not. If a form field of any sort has focus, however, that's bug 272661 instead.

Do you have other example sites that don't work?
Eric, make sure no text boxes or any form fields are selected.

Do you have any key mapping applications installed?

Works for me

Firefox/1.0+
Yes, now that you mention it, I do have DoubleCommand installed.
If you remove DoubleCommand, does the problem go away?
I am marking as works for me.

If you still have this problem even after completely removing DoubleCommand
reopen this bug.

Sorry, just rechecked the PowerBook in question. It does *not* have
DoubleCommand installed. The problem still happens, so I'm reopening the bug.

I have DoubleCommand installed on a different computer, which also exhibits the
PageUp/PageDown problem.

Have you tried with a recent alpha/trunk/developer's build?

This is really the only clue we have with which to go forward with.
If you open an HTML document with only text, does it work?
See if you can take a document that doesn't scroll, and remove elements until it
does work. Then you can find what is breaking the scrolling.

Summary: Page Up and Page Down keys don't work after clicking in window → [Mac] Page Up and Page Down keys don't work after clicking in window
I think I found the culprit. The "Move system caret with focus/selection changes" checkbox in the
Advanced / Accessibility preferences panel was checked. (Not sure if I did that myself or if that was a
default.)

Anyway, turned that off and I can page up and down to my heart's content.
