SVG links don't enter the tab order. TESTCASE: http://www.hixie.ch/tests/adhoc/svg/links/001.xml STEPS TO REPRODUCE: 1. Load testcase. 2. Press tab four times. ACTUAL RESULTS: Focus moves between the content area and the text field(s) in the chrome. EXPECTED RESULTS: Focus should move once to each of the two links on that page.

Hixie, I strongly object to you behaviour and use of language. I raised this matter over 8 months ago. You've complained on each occassion about the manner rather than seeing what needed to be done and doing it. You finally asserted in bug #273099 "As far as I can tell, you can navigate an SVG fragment just like an HTML fragment: cursor keys pan, tab moves focus, enter follows links. In fact I can't see anything that the mouse pointer can do that the keyboard can't. No?" if you are retracting this statement, please apologise. Please identify which aspects of device independence are not supported. As far as I can rationalise, given that we agree after 8 months that tab should be supported and currently isn't, the keyboard navigation keys including shift tab, space and return or enter, are also broken. Presumably it is hard to test them as one can't move focus in the first place This issue is not normal severity, it is a major or critical issue for accessibility, and keyboard users in particular. As an accessibility consultant I have been looking pretty stupid for some while promoting a UA/technology that fails to support device independence. mozilla search is so broken for SVG bugs that imho it is a significant benefit to have one clearly labelled general bug which can be found, and links to other bugs which are part of the same issue. However I don't have time to argue. dont be surprised if you get additional bug mail. I've raised a significant number of bugs, most if not all are accessibility related and I expect to be given the appropriate respect. cheers

hixie, in response to your comment: "SVG doesn't support device independence in the first place" can I draw your attention to: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/svg-developers/message/46419

This is a clear consequence of the issues described in bug 267657
Depends on: 267657

And the issue is fixed, so I assume the fix for bug 267657 fixed this bug too. Marking worksforme. Note though, that you don't get the nice dotted outline highlighting the focused element in SVG as you do in HTML. That should be a separate bug though.

this attachment displays visual confirmation of change of focus however the status bar should display the URI. Should there be a default action that is visible?
