flagging for blocking-aviary1.0, as this bug prevents the user from accessing a major setting element.

Oops, I was testing the trunk build. Now I am using the following: Thunderbird nightly version 1.0 (20041204) The same problem still happens. I also notice that other setting items aren't displayed fully either (e.g. "Manage Identities" button).

is it possible you are using a larger than normal font size or something? I just created a POP3 account on my OS X machine and the account manager panels all havae plenty of space to show all the data including the Server Settings panel cited here in the scree shot. Please note, localizers have the ability to make the dialog bigger for languages that use larger fonts: http://lxr.mozilla.org/mozilla/source/mail/components/prefwindow/locale/AccountManager.dtd#24 They always have. Also note: this dialog has the same size as the account manager in the mozilla suite. We both use the same dialog, the same sizes.

Confirm. I think that this problem is dependent on bug233781. If workaround in the following comments is set up, I think that this problem improves. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=233781#c4 Mac OS X 10.3.6 thunderbird 1.0 release version

(In reply to comment #6) > If workaround in the following comments is set up, I think that this problem > improves. > https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=233781#c4 Yes, I think so, too. I'm now on Mac OS X 10.3.7 with the English environment where everything looks all right. So this problem must have the same root as the bug 233781. This is particularly problematic when the Japanese users (or other locale users as well) want to use plain English Thunderbird on their own locales, sine some elements like this are not accessible from UI.

I have the same problem on Windows XP Professional (1.5.0.4 and 1.5.0.5) and I find it nearly a BLOCKER.

Bug reports on Win-XP ; Bug 344247 : "Local Directory" and below is not accessible. Bug 379884 : OK and Cancel buttons only is not accessible. To Scott MacGregor("Assigned To:" person of this bug) : We should DUP Bug 344247 & Bug 379884 to this bug? Or we should keep them as different bug on MS Win?

Is this still a problem? I think the Account manager panels are scrollable today so the Local Directory field can be exposed as needed. Is this problem on Mac OS only?
