RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 311763

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0

Currently there seems to be no way to search for remote calendars directly from
SB. Maybe a search dialog like the default one in Firefox could be used, and it
would execute the default browser with the search string needed.

The search should either contact a central site like
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/holidays.html, or a generic search
engine capable of finding ICS files directly.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

if you subscribe remote calendar you can search it as the local one

but you probably would like to add to Sunbird web services which is really huge feature

I think this is something we would definitely want to provide in the product, and I was a little surprised there wasn't already a bug for it. There are related bugs to this issue: bug 355270, bug 306495, and bug 356569.

Even if our "search for remote calendars" just brought the user to a static webpage that contained many links to many providers of calendars, that would be better than having nothing at all.

Therefore, I will confirm this bug.

This is something that should also be in Lightning as well, so I am going to move the component of this to "Internal Components".
