User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 StumbleUpon/1.999 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 This is a bit of a tricky bug to report, because... well, it's very strange. Whenever I run Firefox (1.0, but it was present in earlier versions too) under KDE (3.3.1, haven't tested earlier versions) the browser hangs at unpredictable times. The browser does not crash though; the hang only lasts a good five seconds or so. It is extremely annoying though. The complete UI becomes unresponsive, and all Firefox windows, not just the one I have open, freeze. Other applications continue to behave normally. Under other window managers such as Fluxbox and other desktops such as GNOME, I never have this problem. Firefox runs perfectly. But under KDE, it happens quite often. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Run Firefox 1.0 on KDE 3.3.x (probably any 3.x though) and just start using it as you normally would. 2. Keep using it until Firefox hangs 3. Wait for the browser to hang. When it does, wait it out and it will eventually go back to normal. Actual Results: browser hangs at unpredictable times Expected Results: browser should behave normally under any desktop and not hang Using Arch Linux (current) with Firefox 1.0 downloaded from mozilla.org and vanilla KDE 3.3 as packed by the Arch Linux maintainers

Hello, I can reproduce this behaviour under Debian Sarge with KDE 4:3.3.2-1 and somehost:~# dpkg -l | grep mozilla-firefox ii mozilla-firefox 1.0.1-2 lightweight web browser based on Mozilla ii mozilla-firefox-gnome-support 1.0.1-2 Support for Gnome in Mozilla Firefox ii mozilla-firefox-locale-de 1.0.1-1 Mozilla Firefox German Language/Region Package Today it seems a new mozilla-firefox update came from Debian. I also had this with later versions of Mozilla Firefox. I also had it with later versions of Mozilla Firefox. Today a new update came in: someotherhost:~# dpkg -l | grep mozilla-firefox ii mozilla-firefox 1.0.4-2 lightweight web browser based on Mozilla ii mozilla-firefox-gnome-support 1.0.4-2 Support for Gnome in Mozilla Firefox ii mozilla-firefox-locale-de-de 1.0.3lang20050420-1 Mozilla Firefox German language/region package I will observe how it goes with that version. Probabably this is related to Debian bug #279169. http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=279169 Regards, Martin Steigerwald - team(ix) GmbH

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
