I don't know about others but I wound find a spellchecker a very useful addition. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Summary: Having a spell checker in Sunbird would be a helpful tool → [RFE] Having a spell checker in Sunbird would be a helpful tool
A good idea but something that has proven to be quite difficult to put into practice. Openoffice has long been said to be lacking such a feature but the problems have been where exactly you can obtain or produce the required word lists. This may be something for the future (perhaps Openoffice will finally get its own spellchecker) but for now I don't think this is going to be implemented.
Nominating for invalid, see http://www.mozilla.org.uk/docs/spell-checker-faq.html for a slightly humorous explanation of why this won't be happening.
