Build Identifier: Thunderbird 0.8

In an outgoing email I like to check an attachment before I send it out. After
attaching a file to a Thunderbird email I cannot open it to check its
integrity.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Attach file to email
2. try to open attached file by double clicking on the attachment
3 [review]. Attachment will not open

Actual Results:
Attachment would not open

Expected Results:
Attachment should have opened

Is that it? You get no response at all?

I set up a compose window with a .TXT, a .PDF and a .ZIP attachment. When I
double-click either of the first two, I get the "Opening ..." dialog, which
gives me the option to open with either the default or some other application,
or to save to disk. With the ZIP file, I get the Enter Name of File to Save To
dialog -- because my preference for ZIPs is to always save to disk.

Attachment types are defined in Tools | Options | Attachments. Unfortunately,
Thunderbird does not offer a simple means of entering a new type; see bug 244618
and bug 261766.

Martha Dibblee, feel free to reopen if this is still a problem for you, but
provide more information; in particular, respond to comment 1 in this bug.
Whoops -- really WFM this time.
