On mac (may be xp, I dont know):

Bring up the editor.  Type some text.  Select it.  Click on the font popup menu 
in the toolbar.  At this point it doesn't matter what you do: you can choose a 
font, or click outside of the menu to abort it.  Either way, you can no longer 
select text anymore.  

I assume it's a focus problem involving popups.  If you bing up another window, 
give it focus, then come back to the editor window, focus is restored and you 
can see your selection.

This actually works okay now with saari and hyatt's fixes.  Unfortunately that 
seems to be only because of bug 24947 which we're guessing was caused by their 
fixes.  We're working on a long term solution to 24947 but for now this should 
be PDT- and moved to m15 since its not a problem until that one is fixed.

The original bug listed here is fixed, but as noted in this bug is now covered 
under bug 32144 which is not marked fixed.  The reason for opening that bug is 
because the bug caused by the intermediate fix to this one is reported on bug 
24947 which is marked verified fixed.  Is there still a bug in this report 
somewhere?  
Bugs 32144 and 24947 are both fixed now, and the failure described in this bug 
is not happening anymore on the M16 build form 4/21 on Mac. Resolution changed 
to Worksforme.
