My throbber won't stop throbbing! It gets kind of annoying after a little while.
I've noticed this since upgrading to Thunderbird 1.0 (this morning) and
restarting it doesn't help.

You might check bug 272274. I had the same problem and I had an RSS & Blogs
account with no subscriptions. I went into Account Settings / RSS & Blogs and
turned off the "Check for new ..." options. The throbber now seems to stop.

I do have (one) subscription in my RSS & Weblogs account (that I didn't use so
much). When I turned off automatically grabbing the RSS feeds, the throbber
stopped going. I guess something needs to be done about this, anyway.

I've been seeing this recently using Thunderbird trunk builds on Linux fc3.
not sure if what I'm seeing is bug 272274, since it occurred when I had a
non-empty RSS account.

I still see this problem in Thunderbird 1.5 beta 1 (nightly 20050910) on Linux.
I don't have any news account but I am subscribed to a couple of RSS/news feeds.

And this is happening also if I remove all the RSS subscriptions so that only
Trash remains in News & Blogs.

doing what was suggested in Comment #1 seems to have stopped the spinning for me.
