Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: version 1.0 (20041206) the option to mark mail as read after displaying in the viewing pane offers (a) a checkbox and (b) a timeout checking the checkbox should mean that messages mark as read after the timeout unchecking the checkbox should mean that messages never mark as read, no matter how long they're viewed for however, thunderbird ignores the checkbox and follows the timeout, i.e. even when this functionality is deselected by the checkbox, tb still employs the functionality the workaround is clearly to set the timeout high, but it shouldn't be hard to check the status of the checkbox Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. set timeout for marking read to 5 seconds 2. uncheck the checkbox (i.e., tb should not ever mark displayed messages as read) 3. select an unread mail with the viewing pane on Actual Results: tb will, after 5 seconds, mark the mail as read Expected Results: the mail should display in the viewing pane but remain marked as unread until manually altered to read -- tb should not automatically mark messages read when the checkbox is unchecked
