User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.2) Gecko/20040804 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.2) Gecko/20040804 Let us suppose that Thunderbird is used with the default theme, i.e. that no additional themes for Thunderbird have been installed. If I use the Messenger of the Mozilla Suite, when I select a message and download it (File -> Offline -> Get Selected Messages), the mail icon displayed at the beginning of the "Subject" field (in the top-right part of the Messenger window) changes: if the Classic theme is used, a grey mail icon is used, and this makes evident that the message has been downloaded and synchronized for offline usage. On the contrary, the default Thunderbird theme uses the same icon both for downloaded and non downloaded messages. This may seem a not so relevant problem, but it is very important for me, as I heavily (need to) use the offline features of Mozilla and, before going offline, I need to easily distinguish on the GUI which messages have downloaded and which have not been downloaded. Marco Pratesi Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set up an imap account 2. Get new messages 3. Select a message, then File -> Offline -> Get Selected Messages Actual Results: The mail icon displayed at the beginning of the "Subject" field in the top-right part of the Messenger window is just the same as before the download of the message for offline usage. Expected Results: The mail icon displayed at the beginning of the "Subject" field in the top-right part of the Messenger window should change after the download of the message for offline usage, to make evident that the message is available also for offline usage. Some additional themes are not affected by this problem, but the default theme is, and additional themes are not immediately updated when a new Thunderbird version is released.
I assume by "top-right part" of the window do you mean the "thread pane" (in non-developer language, the list of messages/threads)? If you do, I'm seeing this too in Thunderbird 1.0

> I assume by "top-right part" of the window do you mean the "thread pane" > (in non-developer language, the list of messages/threads)? Yes, exactly. The following screenshot evidences the feature provided by Mozilla Messenger with the "classic" theme: http://www.marcopratesi.it/DOWNLOAD/bug273875.jpg The first message has not been downloaded, the second one *has* been downloaded, and this is evidenced by a different mail icon, indicated by the red arrow I have added to the screenshot.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. It appears this was taken out, while making the offline component a separate XPI. It may have been intentional; I don't know. Maybe Scott can tell us.
thu-1.5b2 still the same - why is this bug still of "unconfirmed" status? The bug is so obvious ;-)

Well, as I'm using tb Version 2.0.0.14 (20080421) now, and still am not able to recognize messages which I have not yet downloaded for reading them offline: the upper two messages *have* been downloaded, the lower two are still on the server. Can you tell them apart? I can't :-)
