User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041118 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041118 Firefox/1.0
In the page http://www.hardwax.pl/ first column grows too large and causes the
rest of the page being shifted beyound right margin (showing horizontal scroller).
The page looks OK on Konqueror 3.3.1, Links and (surprise!) on Mozilla 1.7.3 -
so there might be some incompatibility between Moz and FF gecko engines.
The webmaster is willing to co-operate, as the company wants to reach all
possible customers.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open http://www.hardwax.pl
Actual Results:
The page is misaligned, with large, white area in the center and contents
shifted partially begind right margin
Expected Results:
The page should fit between left and right margin.
OS:
Gentoo Linux, ~x86 seettings, all libraries and apps up-to-date

Bug should be moved to TE as there is probably nothing wrong with Gecko.
Firefox->Website is for the firefox website.
The page looks fine for me with (Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US;
rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041109 Firefox/1.0).
Are you running any kind of add block extensions. Try a clean profile.

Yes, I do have adblock. Disabled it, no change.
I have a newer version of gecko: Gecko/20041118 vs your Gecko/20041109 .

What do you mean "bug should be moved to TE"? How should I do that?

You move a bug to a new product by selecting it in the Product dropdown and
submitting, which will prompt you to select a new component. However, since we
don't have anything to tell the webmaster to fix, there's no reason to move it
to TE (yet).
You don't have a newer Gecko, just a build with a later build date, which
doesn't mean much since the Firefox 1.0 tree was closed before 20041109 and
nothing more was checked into it. It could mean that you have a non-official
build which is broken, but it seems more likely that disabling AdBlock isn't
actually disabling it. If you don't have it installed as a global extension, try
creating a new profile as Paul suggested (run firefox -profilemanager).

I have no global add-ins. I ran FF off the account it was never run on before
(no config/skins/add-ons installed). The problem persists.
FF on Gentoo is compiled from source. I'll ask others using it on Gentoo NG
and post reply here. This might be Gentoo-patch related problem, but I don't
see any patches related to layout engine.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".
This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.
If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.
