I'm the webmaster of bipefrei.com. On the page ecoute.html, i use the tag
<acronym> to display a translation of the word LIVE in french when the mouse
pointer is over the text, in the sentence "en live". Firefox displays LIVE as if
there wasn't any space between "en" and "live". Yet, the space character is
displayed UNDER the text "live".

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to http://www.bipefrei.com/ecoute.html
2. Read the text in the light-blue box (middle of the page)
3. Select the word "en" and continue to select the letters "live" to the right.
Keep the mouse button clicked.
4. Then, move your mouse to the left, to unselect characters and to select the
word before "en"
Actual Results:
The space character displayed under the word "live" is not unselected

Expected Results:
Hmm... on Netscape and IE, the space is displayed. I just expect for the space
to be displayed.

The characters are selected and unselected normally.

Can you try making a minimized testcase and attach it to this bug?
The bug does not happen every time as i thought before. I opened a new window
and I don't have the problem now !
Version: unspecified → 1.0 Branch
A screenshot is on http://www.bipefrei.com/firefox/_bug_firefox_acronym.gif
I opened the page with firefox and I got the display problem on the picture.
Then, i went to an other (missing) page (error 404) and I clicked the "Back"
button... The display problem wasn't there anymore !!

bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
