When viewing Junk folder: Choosing "Delete Mail Marked as Junk in folder"
Thuderbird automatically shows the first (last?) message in the list in the
message pane. As the folder is empty after delete no message should show. As
junk mail often includes viruses and scripting messages should not be opened
(most users have probably disabled javascript but not all people will...). Might
be an IMAP bug, have not tested this with POP3.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use Junk filter to dump spam into Junk IMAP folder
2. Choose "Delete Mail Marked as Junk in Folder" from message menu

Actual Results:
All mail in folder is deleted, but one of the junk messages is opened in the
message pane automatically, even though folder is empty and no message was selected.

Expected Results:
Deleted all messages in junk folder and left the message pane unchanged as no
messages exist and none were selected.
sorry: "tools" menu, not "messages" menu in steps to reproduce.
This is Seamonkey bug 200138 -- I suspect that it's actually a Core:Mail Backend
bug, as I believe this navigation is handled below the front end code; so this
should probably be duped over.

Altho your bug, and that one, both refer to IMAP, I've seen the same symptom on
POP3.
realized that this bug doesn't always occur and figured out why. near as i can
tell if the message pane is currently empty junk message is previewed - if
message pane is already displaying something then junk is not previewed.

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
