User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; fr-fr) AppleWebKit/125.5.5 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/125.12 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; fr-FR; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040910 Mozilla doesn't display an image embedded in a link with target attibute : <p><a href="http://www.icab.de/smile.html" target="_blank"><img src="images/let_icab_smile.gif" alt="Let iCab smile" border="0" height="60" width="80"></a></p> Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. add code above 2. display page 3. no image appear Actual Results: No image appears. Expected Results: Display the image.
I can confirm this one on Mozilla 1.7.3 and 1.7.5, it works as it should be on 1.7.0 Another example (maybe NSFW and you have to accept a cookie to get in): http://www.adultdvdtalk.com/forum/topic.dlt/topic_id=39629/forum_id=10/cat_id=1/39629.htm Looking at it with 1.7.0 or Firefox 1.0 it shows a picture with a link under the author, with 1.7.3 or 1.7.5 it shows nothing at all, but if you view the source it is there: <a href="/click.asp?dst=42087430&id=forumavatar" target="_new"><img src="/forum/avatar/571.jpg" border="0"> I didn't check with 1.7.1, 1.7.2 or 1.7.4 but I can if the assignee wants that. My version: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041217 MultiZilla/1.6.3.0e so it seems not OS specific.
wfm. Please check the setting such as image block. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; ja-JP; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050120 Firefox/1.0+ Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.4) Gecko/20041011
I know it works fine with Firefox (and Opera, Konqueror or IE), it is just recent Mozilla versions which have that problem.

Reopen if you can still reproduce this with a recent build (1.8 or later).

Just tried it with 1.8b (Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050217), same problem, doesn't work.

There have to be some other factors that prevent this from working for you, because it's a simple enough testcase. You say that removing the target attribute on the link makes the image appear?

I got very tired of this bug, I have to use the site I mentioned daily for my work, so I switched completely to Firefox and I have no problems anymore.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
