bug 65928 has somehow seriously regressed. www.mozilla.org/contribute/ is now linked from pages using the About template (www.mozilla.org/contact/ and www.mozilla.org/about). The product pages asks for $$$$$$ (buy something or donate), but doesn't ask for effort :-( The immediate solution is to link "Support Our Work" in Thunderbird/Firefox pages to contribute/ and also put a Get Involved link back to default template. The more important solution is to find out how this happened.

http://www.mozilla.org/contribute/ talks about reporting bugs, creating reduced testcases, etc. Is this bug about a problem on http://www.mozilla.org/contribute/ or about making other pages link to it?

I'm going to WFM this bug. /contribute/ is good and the focus of Firefox/Thunderbird have become more end-user oriented so the in-app pages aren't very "help us"-like. If there are specific things that should be changed in various apps, we should file new bugs for those apps. This bug WORKSFORME (which of course means I'm totally okay with Mozilla Foundation's evil plot against potential contributors).

Actually, I'd suggest reopening it and switching it to the mozilla.com website. Their product pages make no mention of - the community's involvement - the open source project - the idea that you, too, can get involved You have to click on About and then "global community" because this is *not even explained on their About page*.

mozilla.com is getting a whole new look and content for FF3. "Community" is featured fairly prominently in both the header and the footer, but I'll leave this open until the new site launches.
