I would love to see an option to customize which accound should be checked when
'Get mail' is pressed. This would be useful as I download mails from some
accounts to my 'main' mailserver using fetchmail and get them from there for
speed and spam/virus filtering, but keep the account info for the purpose of
sending mails. Now when I press 'Get mail' TB tries to get mails from all the
accounts which is undesirable for me as it bypasses virus/spam checks.

it's a drop down menu button - you can pick which account it downloads from...

I know, but it's not so convenient. I got used to just pressing 'Get mail'
because in my previous MUA I'd got some accounts excluded from checking so every
once in a while I just automatically press that button instead of using the
drop-down list.
