User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 When I scroll through a list of emails in the list pane, T-bird puts an additional bar on the top of the message pane if it thinks that the email is junk or if it is blocking outside images. But rather than bump the email display down to display this bar, it moves the split between the panes up and shortens the list pane. So as I scroll, the size of the visible list bounces around, making it very difficult to scan through subjects and senders. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Click in list pane 2.Arrow up or down through emails that are either spam or contain outside images 3. Actual Results: The list pane resizes to allow for the extra message bar on top of the email window. Expected Results: The bottom pane should bump the email message down rather than pushing the list up.

I'm not seeing this behavior on TB 1.0, Win2K. Which version of TB are you running? Do you have "View All Headers" turned on?

I have it set to normal headers. Though I have noted that when there is more header info than usual, as in there is a separate Reply To: line, the message list pane is made slightly smaller. I appears to cut the difference in half and move the email contents down and the message list up in order to make space.
