Details

Steps to reproduce:

1. Right click and select Search Messages on an IMAP account
2. Select Status is New
3. Hit Search

Result:

Nothing happens. No search is done and no result is shown even though I can see
that there are new messages.

Expected result:

Show the messages that are new.
I see this with build 2005-09-15-04 SeaMonkey trunk, Cyrus IMAP.

This was fixed once with bug 243583. I know this bug was filed a while ago, but
since it's regressed...

My mistake; as David points out New isn't the same as Unread in the IMAP world.
NEW comes from the server, whereas Unread is distinguished client-side.
Therefore, there really isn't a bug for me, at least.

Erik, the selection for getting unread(new) messages is
  "status isn't read"
