27450 - Navigator only install will not launch

build 2000021109 on NT and 95
choosing navigator only setup type is only downloading core.xpi, psm.xpi, 
sometimes fullcircle.xpi - tried many times 
error message is 'cannot find file dirpath\mozilla.exe (or one of its 
components)-which is correct...mozilla.exe is not in directory.

expected browser.xpi to be part of install

It appears Navigator install takes place- ie core, browser downloaded, installed 
but on launch- splash screen comes up and that is it-hangs.
Relaunching with -Profile Manager allows me to migrate or create a profile but 
then splash screen comes up and hangs.

reopening, changing summary
first attempt, brings up ProfileManager and allows you to create profile or 
migrate a profile, then nothing.
Splash screen stays open-

more to add:  after testing this I tried to install again,  Installer tells me 
an instance of Netscape is still running and in upper left corner of monitor is 
a window 2x1 inch big, when maximized it is an outline of a window only- 
transparent-

This looks like a problem with the profile because the install finished.  It 
might not have installed all the necessary files, but did install all the files 
marked in the packages-win file.

My suspicion is that the packages-win file is not up to date with having just 
Nativator run.

Reassigning to selmer for closer inspection.

as to the problem with bring up a blank window, it has been fixed.

Ben, is it possible that any front-end files are missing from the package?

I see this problem on today's build, but I also get an error dialog: 

Title = "NSPR:EventReceiver: mozilla.exe - Entry Point Not Found"
Message = "The procedure entry point XprtGetDebugSetting could not be located in 
the dynamic link library Xprt.dll."

I'm not convinced this has anything to do with profile manager.

Steve,
See bug 28016 for the error message you are receiving. I see something similar 
on Mac (bug 28033) 
I am not sure it is Profiles either; I can perform most functions of the Profile 
Manager. 
I am told, but have not tested yet, that the Win zip file and 
netscape5-mac-M14.sea.bin file are launchable.

Yes, the zip for 2000-02-16-08 launches for me.  Does someone have a file 
comparison between the two?

build 2000021808 is launching with Navigator only install- with a migrated 
profile. I think this bug is fixed-whatever was happening with the NSPR 
Event....seems to have disappeared on builds
Installation of Navigator only is successful
