Details

This is pretty much the first time I have used TB, I am using the official 1.0
build.

I imported my mail from Mozilla 1.8a5 20041122. Whenever I compose an email from
an imported account, the signature will not append. Resetting the signature
makes no difference. Creating a new account and new profile, signature works fine.
I have a little more detail.

If a signature is stored in `/home/user/.sig` it imports to Thunderbird as
`/home/.sig`
I think I found the cause for this. On my Debian Linux system, my Mozilla Suite
config directory is at /home/richard/.mozilla/default/z7mfc7u0.slt with the
prefs.js file containing:

user_pref("mail.identity.id6.sig_file", "/home/richard/.signature4");
user_pref("mail.identity.id6.sig_file-rel","[ProfD]../../../.signature4");

My TB config directory is at /home/richard/.mozilla-thunderbird/85kwh0qi.default
with prefs.js (after importing the Mozilla Suite settings) containing:

user_pref("mail.identity.id6.sig_file", "/home/.signature4");
user_pref("mail.identity.id6.sig_file-rel","[ProfD]../../../.signature4");

It seems that the sig_file-rel is used, and since TB uses one directory less
than the Suite, the absolute path ends up to be wrong.

BTW, resetting the signature did fix the problem for me. So this is really a
problem with the setting conversion tool to me.

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
