2. that checkbox on the same screen.

These are two different issues: changing the default is one thing and I agree
that the default should be that it is unchecked at all times. 

Complicating the dialog so that the checkbox is not on the same dialog is
another thing and I disagree with this strongly.

Considering comment #4 (default issue resolved) and the remaining issue "checkbox on same screen" sensibly undermined by comment #2 (additional complication) I close this bug.
