As far as I know, there's nothing about RSS that stops you from having a feed with a title that begins with a "." Thunderbird adds those feeds just fine, but it won't actually show them in the folder list. I imagine that perhaps this isn't an issue on Windows (where the dotfiles aren't necessarily considered "hidden"), but I haven't tested it on anything other than FreeBSD.
Probably same cause as Bug 229522(starting dot in local folder file name). We are trying to resolve this by similar approach to Bug 262018(# or ; in RSS feed). Watch Bug 229522 for a while, please. Mscott, your help to Bug 229522 is very approciated. Regards.
I just want to verify this bug. I "fixed" it by going into the mail directory and changing all files and directories starting with a dot (.) and replaced them with the word "Dot". It's ugly but it makes Thunderbird usable again.
Confirming according to comment #2, and setting dependecy on Bug 229522 for ease of search.

Bug 229522 landed, do someone still see this? (or have a samle feed url so I can test it)
