Details

When using a website that has been created using ASP DotNet such as
www.specstoreserv.com, pages that are produced by a webcontrols.datalist are not
rendered properly. The images are scattered and impossible to associate with
their textbox input controls.

The example is www.specstoreserv.com/product.aspx which is populated by clicking
on a link of a sub-category in www.specstoreserv.com/default.aspx like building
maintenance > Dollies and hand trucks

I know this is an aspx page because my company wrote the source code for the page.
It renders fine in IE 5.0 and up.

TIA,
Del at Equisoft
Well, I think you might find it informative to install the "User Agent Switcher"
extension in a copy of Firefox, change the UA to IE6, and then see what one of
those product.aspx pages looks like in Firefox.

A good next step would be to google for something like "teach asp firefox +is
+not downlevel", and an absolutely outstanding final step would be to let
Microsoft know how you as a customer feel about them selling you a tool which
defaults to making your work look like crap in Firefox and the Mozilla App Suite.

As to resolving your bug report, well, I dunno. It doesn't seem likely that
anyone who knows enough about layout to do it is going to want to write a
sniffer that will detect incoming ASP-generated content which is aimed at
working around bugs in Netscape Navigator 4.x, and will then parse it into
something that will actually work, but I might be wrong.

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.
