The info from the ABOUT feature under HELP is: Mozilla 1.8a6 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8a6) Gecko/20050111 I am having a few other problems of late as well with the new versions. I have also been unable to access www.weather.com on one computer but on two others it works fine. On the Dell 8200 laptop where I cannot load weather.com, I have tried creating a NEW PROFILE and with the NEW profile, I can access www.weather.com just fine. But then I go back to the ORIGINAL profile and I get an oscillation between http://www.w2.weather.com/common/jump3.html?/weather/local/30534? and http://www.w2.weather.com/common/jump.html?/weather/local/30534? and a page never shows up. Maybe there is an obscure profile element compatibility difference bewteen 1.7.1 which was working fine on my laptop and 1.7.5 (not working) and 1.8.a.6 (not working). If anyone can suggest what to try dumping from the profile to try and isolate this further, I am fine with helping out. Thanks Joe Mehaffey

Joe, let's keep this bug focused on the original problem... Does the clean profile also have trouble on the atlantafreenet.org page?

Yes, I tested atlantafreenet.org posting to the forum and with the new profile, I can post just fine.

OK. If you copy your prefs.js from the old profile to the new, does the site break? If so, can you find which exact pref breaks it?

a rep from weather.com sent me an email and asked if they had fixed their website so my particular Mozilla would work with it. In fact, not Mozilla does indeed work fine with weather.com both my OLD profile and my fresh NEW profile. (Previously, the OLD profile would not allow access to weather.com but the new profile would work fine. I have asked the engineer at weather.com to tell me what they changed to make my OLD profile work. If I get info, I will add additional comments here. I still have both the OLD and the NEW profile working on my laptop. I have given up trying to figure out why the OLD profile cannot a) log into Yahoo.com, b) cannot access the forum on atlantafreenet.org and just started using the NEW PROFILE. If anyone has any thoughts on what I might check in the old profile, for the problems, I will be happy to test.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
