Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040910

Updated to Mozilla 1.7.3 a few days ago; some sites now don't display as HTML
but a screen full of control (and Chinese?) characters, for example
http://www.tomshardware.com/
http://www.pvruk.co.uk/
These open and display correctly in IE6 (and used to be OK in Mozilla 1.7)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Go to the web page
2.
3.

Expected Results:
Displayed the web page. View==>Page Source also displays the string of control
codes. IE6 displays the page correctly, and View==>Source shows the expected
HTML code

These are the only two sites I've found so far (there are probably many more), I
suspect they're using some uncommon code which is being misinterpreted by Mozilla.
You might want to check the text encoding (Tools -> Page Info). Tom's
Hardware displays properly for me, with the ISO-8859-1 encoding.

Ian, is this a problem in a current trunk build (eg 1.8a6)?

It seemed to be a corrupted font or something in a cached web page; after I
cleared Mozilla's cache the problem went away and hasn't recurred since.

Sounds like a page that was temporarily broken and sent gzip content without the
right headers....
