Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0

Firefox minimizing and maximizing is broken with regards to interaction with the
window title bar and taskbar.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Firefox
2. Maximize Firefox
3. Double-click window title bar
Actual Results:
Firefox minimizes. Alternatively, Firefox presents a very small window (I think
this happens for any new windows opened after the first window).

Expected Results:
Firefox should restore any window to some sane unmaximized size.

After double-clicking the title bar, causing Firefox to minimize, clicking the
Firefox button in the Windows taskbar doesn't maximize Firefox.

Selecting various combinations of Maximize, Minimize and Restore from Firefox's
taskbar menu can also cause Firefox to ignore any taskbar button clicks
(pressing the button should focus the window, "unpressing" it should minimize
the window). However, Firefox simply remains minimized.

Also on my box the maximise button maximises the window and sends the title bar
of the window off the top of the screen. From there i cannot move the window
back down again as the min/max buttons are off the top of the screen.
Sometimes when clicking the Minimize button on the title bar the functionality
of the Restore button will be activated instead and the browser window will be
resized instead of minimizing. The same occurs when you try to maximize the
window from the taskbar, the Restore function will be activated instead and the
browser window will resize to occupy the entire screen. I'm using Windows XP
Pro x64 Edition with Firefox 1.0.6 and have a GAIM toolbar docked on the right
side of my screen.
Dear Albert, Glen, Michael - your reported Firefox versions are too old a build to analyze bugs against now. The problem you are reporting may well have been fixed already.

Could you please download a recent version or nightly build from
<http://www.mozilla.org/releases/nightly.html>, and then let us know if you
still see this problem?

Many thanks,

Cigno
