Details

Waaay too complex reporting. Just wanted to tell you. Downloaded Thunderbird
yesterday & installed. Winbook, Centrino PC,with XP 2003 and service pack.
Used it a liitle, easy load. This morning the Thunderbird will not open at all.
Unuseable. So back to outlook express. But for your info. The first thing my PC
did this morning was run Windows updates and restart itself. Whether that jams
up your stuff I can't say but based on the theory of recent activity there may a
correlation. Information for your use or not. The product is toast here since
it won't open.

Have you done a reinstall to see if this is reproducable on your machine? I have
tried to reproduce but have so far been unable to do so.
I just downloaded latest trunk 2004-12-25 and it won't start. The process dies
after a few seconds. That's on Windows XP SP2. I rolled back to a nightly from
2004-12-03 and it works fine.
I suspect this is a dupe of bug 272621 -- trunk builds were not running for a
while, but Aviary builds were fine. Roberto, Etienne, can you confirm that you
can run trunk builds now?
I could not reproduce this with any of the 2005+ builds I tried.
WFM per comment 4.
