I cannot log in to my account on the website in Firefox, but have no trouble
logging in using IE 6.0.

Sorry, I'm not a programmer.  My son turned me on to Mozilla, and I'm just
trying to help.

From the Firefox about screen:

I'm trying to log into my account on their online store.  I enter my
username and password, and click the logon button.  The screen blinks and
redraws exactly the same, no error message or anything.  If I enter an
incorrect username of password, I get the usual error message.  In IE 6.0,
the same procedure gets me to the store's homepage.

"Weird shit is happening.  The bug has disappeared.  I just went to log in at
intuitmarketplace for the hell of it, and I got in no prob., although I was able
to reproduce the bug for a week previously.  I haven't upgraded my firefox
build, so I can only suppose Intuit fixed something at their end."

This happened again today, but your test account worked.  Then my account worked
again.  I'm assuming this is a stale cookie issue, since logging on with your
test account would have overwrote the stale cookis, which would explain why the
problem goes away temporarily.  I've now changed my cookie setting from "keep
till expired" to "keep till I exit Firefox" to see if that solves the issue.

Tried to log into www.Yahoo.com. After entering login info, I am asked to repeat
the password portion which brings me back to the original login window. The
cycle is repeated ad infinitum

works for me at both intuit and yahoo in recent Firefox 1.0.4 and trunk builds
on winxpsp2. Be sure you have cookies enabled for yahoo.
