when does it crash? Before showing any windows (eg. migration wizard)?
Did you install over an old version of Firefox, which one? Does creating a new
profile / doing a clean install help? Could you send a talkback report and post
its ID here?

I have the same problem om Windows ME. It's caused by Firefox only. It happened
when installing Firefox 1.03. The error message is displayed in the very
beginning, i.e. Firefox does not start. I have installed several Firefox
versions, now all can't be started, not only FF 1.03.

Without further information this bug is not useful. Please answer questions in
comment 1. Also you can try safe mode or a new profile.

Safe mode doesn't work. I installed 1.02 once more after I had already installed
FF 1.03.
I read the subject of this bug once more and think my bug subject is another one
although both bugs relates to msvcrt.dll. The error I got is:
Firefox caused an error in MSVCRT.DLL.
Firefox is closed.
If further problems happen, restart the computer.
FIREFOX caused an error by an invalid page
in Modul MSVCRT.DLL at 0197:78012804.

I translated it from German.
I have already searched in Internet by Google to find a solution, but nothing
helped. I extraced the msvcrt.dll from my Windoes ME CD resp. renamed it by
Linux because Windows always tells that the installed msvcrt.dll is still used.
How does talkback.exe work? I cannot write anything into it. Or does it work
with started FF only? My issue is, however, that FF cannot be started. Therefore
I cannot create any new profile, too.
What do you mean with clean install? What's there different to aa normal install?
