When doing "Check for updates" in the Extension Manager in Firefox, it notified
me that version 0.4 of Gmail Notifier was available. I clicked "Next" to
download and install the update, and got an error stating "not a valid install
package".

This seems to be a firefox bug, the XPI itself works fine.
ok, seems the .rdf file was corrupted a bit. Fixed

I have to question how this made it to update.mozilla.org to begin with... in
theory they test that it installs correctly before they approve it for being listed.
the rdf was hosted on my site, 0.4 is not on update. It checked my rdf and saw
an update, but somehow I managed to have a corrupted character in the URL stored
in the rdf.

Ah. Well, it still won't install it via the extension updater. I still get the
same error.
