I'd find it convenient to have a 'Report Issue' button in the Help menu so that I don't have to browse the Mozilla site before being able to enter my reports. Of course, there are bookmarks, but who really uses them?

Mozilla Seamonkey (the suite) never had this in their release versions, only in the nightlies and betat versions. Why should Firefox ? See bug 256368 for another reporting tool ('Report Broken Website') that will be added in the next version.

Bugzilla is a tool for the developers and it's no support database. A "normal" user wants support but support bug reports are invalid. A user must also read http://www.mozilla.org/quality/bug-writing-guidelines.html, check for dupes etc. before he reports a bug into bugzilla. Your bug report also shows that the bug reporting quality is not very good: No Build ID/Version (such an entry could be already added), wrong severity, wrong component. suggesting wontfix

Ok, I can follow your explanations. Maybe it's not that important for the end user. However, I'm interested in helping to improve the quality of Firefox. So I'm asking for a (more) convenient way to do this. Maybe on the About page???

This may be a better idea but I think it's important that the end user isn't given such an obvious method to report what they believe to be an issue so close to the help menu. This would probably make Bugzilla a general dumping ground for peoples' minor complaints and support requests where they may even have been the root of the problem.

If this would be done, we should provide a link to the Hendrix feedback system<http://hendrix.mozilla.org/>, not to bugzilla. Most users seem to confuse a bug-report database with support.

There's now a "Report Broken Website" item in the Help menu, which should be more useful for most users. People that still want to file a real bug-report (and know how to file a good one), can use the mozilla.org website or a bookmark.
