User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 In the sample page at http://www.wclservices.com/nestedfonttags.htm , there is text which appears in Internet Explorer which does not appear in Mozilla Firefox 1.0. The missing text appears within font tags which are nested 256 levels deep. On experimentation I found that the problem will happen at 190 levels, and the text will appear at 189 level. The problem also only seems to happen within two levels of table-tr-td tags; removing one or both levels of tables will cause the text to reappear. This problem appeared on a page on a private intranet (generated by software which is clearly broken, but that is not the issue here). I cannot publish this page, so I reduced the page to one which reproduced the problem and contains nothing beyond what is necessary to reproduce the problem. In the specific case the missing text was a new news item, and the page looked as it did before the news item was added, causing me to think that the page was somehow getting loaded from the cache, no matter how many times I hit the reload button, cleared the cache, or whatever. When I decided to view source and saw that the item was in there, I figured out the problem. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Visit http://www.wclservices.com/nestedfonttags.htm in Firefox. 2. Visit the same page in Internet Explorer, and see the missing text. 3. Or, view source and see the text within the deeply nested font tags. Actual Results: Page viewed in Firefox: This text is seen in both I.E. and Firefox. Page viewed in I.E.: This text is not seen in Firefox. This text is seen in both I.E. and Firefox. Expected Results: Firefox should have displayed the text. I believe it would be acceptable if font tags were ignored beyond a certain level (I believe the standard specifies tags should not nest beyond TAGLVL=100), but it should not prevent text from displaying. There is no indication to a user that there is text on the page not being displayed that would have been seen had a different browser been used.

Testcase with span tags instead of font tags, and a single table.
