When moving the cursor over a hypertext link on the browser window and the
cursor changes to a hand icon it would be helpful to know before you click if
the link would open on a new window or on the current. That information could be
on the statusbar or on the cursor icon(different color,shape or text), so you
can decide if you should left-click or right-click(New Tab or New Window).

Confirming feature request though I suspect this will be a wontfix in favour of
an extension providing it. Also it would be pretty difficult to determine what
javascript links were going to do so the display would not be that accurate.

Thanks for sharing your idea. There are currently no plans to provide this idea in the native application as this likely would only be useful for a smaller amount of users, but it could always become an extension or add-on which would be provided by third party developers, but not by the Firefox developers themselves. Closing as WONTFIX.
