Details

Up/Down arrow keys should move to start/end of a line for text input fields.
(IE. text input fields in the page, the URL field, search field in the toolbar,
any preferences that has text input, etc)

This bug exists in Firefox 1.0, and Mozilla 1.7.5 (but not in Camino)

-Note: Mozilla 1.7.5 seems to work fine for all areas (input field, textarea
field, in the Preferences) except for the URL field.
-Note: Firefox 1.0 seems to work fine in textareas and most of the preferences
fields, but not in input fields, nor with the URL field, nor the Google search
field, nor in the Preferences for the location of the homepage field.

This bug came up before as bug
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46811 which was supposedly fixed.
The "URL field" part of this bug is a duplicate of bug 129173.
Depends on: 129173
Actually, all of this bug is a duplicate of bug 231754.

This bug includes text input fields within the browser page, it also includes
the preferences area. Please re-open this bug or modify 231754 to include all of
this information.
Bug 231754 also includes these cases : the title says: "url bar or text box".
the description says: "one-line text boxes (i.e. the url bar)".

Also see e.g. bug 258191 which talks specifically about text boxes within the
browser page, and was closed as a duplicate of bug 231754.

If you feel this is not clear enough, you are welcome to add a clarifying
comment to bug 231754. Personally, I don't think it's necessary.
You need to log in before you can comment on or make changes to this bug.
