Mozilla scrolls extremely slowly on the specified page and similar pages
containing lots of data. Safari, in contrast, has no problem with such pages.

See above. It doesn't matter whether smooth scroll is enabled or not.

Is this based on tables (bug 54542 ?) 
This worksforme on Linux (scroll speed is identical to scroll speed on all other
pages I can find)....

Is this Mac-only?  Simon, can you reproduce this?

Matic, were you thinking bug 241796?  But I don't see such huge tables here....
Scrolling speed is just fine once you've waited for the page to load (Moz or
Camino). Maybe the reporter's machine was thrashing?

BTW we have lots of other slow scrolling bugs. We don't need another one.
