I have been using Firefox 1 to access my spreadbetting account. Part of the facilities available on the site are graphing windows which appear as a pop-up. Usually they pop up with no problem, but partway through a session they will suddenly be blocked and an error message appears:- "Ref: PEr3- System Error: This system is unable to create a pop-up window on your browser. Try this option again while holding the Ctrl key." The title of the error window is "[JavaScript Application]". Pop-ups are not blocked in my browser and holding Ctrl does not help. My account is held at www.easy2spreadbet.co.uk, perhaps they can help to resolve the issue. I will be happy to answer any further questions you may have. Regards Paul

If you set the pref dom.popup_maximum higher than the default 20 (type about:config in the addressbar, then popup_max in the Filter input, double-click the line for dom.popup_maximum and enter a new number), does it either stop complaining or complain later in a session? Or, alternatively, when they won't pop up, are you on a page which has stalled partway through loading (the circle of dots in the upper right is still spinning)?

it would help to get more technical description of what's happening. Have you tried asking the easy2spreadbet people about it?

(In reply to comment #2) > If you set the pref dom.popup_maximum higher than the default 20 (type > about:config in the addressbar, then popup_max in the Filter input, double-click > the line for dom.popup_maximum and enter a new number), does it either stop > complaining or complain later in a session? If so this would be a dupe of Bug 260264.
