Thunderbird 1.0. I am using OS X 10.3 Server with all Apple-specified updates un a Dual G5. When installed and opened, Thunderbird sometimes does not display any menu items save the basic Thunderbird pull-down. Clicking away to activate the Finder and back to re-focus on Thunderbird usually results in the other menu items appearing. Once the program is operating, a new email message usually (not always) will not permit focus in either the address or the subject box. All key stroked are echoed in the message box. No number of clicks on the message or address box will alter the situation. I have only once been able to get a new message to operate correctly. I have donloaded and installed Thunderbird multiple times, trashing old versions and the data between downloads, and I have tried shutting down between downloads, also between start-up attemps.

I can verify this on my Powerbook-- I've had the same problem with the past several versions of Thunderbird (including 1.0), and it makes the program extremely difficult to use. This seems to be the same problem as many of the reported Mac OS X bugs, such as 273731 (thunderbird lacks focus on launch), 267765 (Focus issue makes it hard to group by sort), and 275502 (cannot type 'g' as first character in search field). In all of these bugs, the focus of the keyboard hasn't properly followed the focus of the mouse. Any plans for this to be addressed?
Seeing the same thing on my G5 imac. Also happens with TB 1.0+ 20050222 build.
