User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031020 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031020 I had used Firefox 1.0PR for several months without any problems. Downloading short as well as very long files worked, and the download manager worked properly. A few days ago, when downloading - whether from a website, out of ATT email, or via ftp began properly, and the download manager showed progress. When downloading was completed, usually the download manager did not show "done", and the bar continued to move, though no data were transferred. Sometimes it stopped and showed "done". When leaving Firefox, I always got a warning that the download would be cancelled. No file was ever saved. When I tried immediately after that to download via Mozilla 1.5, the download worked correctly. So I downloaded today the current version 1.0 of Firefox. I selected the option that the download manager should open automatically when the download began. With this version of Firefox none of the downloads which I tried did start at all, nor did the download manager appear. When I called it up, the entire window remained grey. Again, afterwards, I could do all downloads via Mozilla very quickly. I normally have no other program running when I do a download. Recently I installed the antivirus program F-Prot. I think that was after I had the problems with v.1.0PR. No virus has been found by occasional scans. No other programs were recently installed Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open a web site 2.Click on a link 3.Start the download according to instructions Actual Results: With version 1.0PR, the download manager appeared and the download started, the modem lights showed data receipt, and the download manager progress. When the data transfer had stopped, either - the download manger showed "done" in a few cases - the progress bar continued to scroll for soemtimes 20 minutes or more, until I tried to leave the browser. In both cases, when leaving the browser I got a warning that the download would be cancelled. Afterwords, the "downloaded" fiel was not on the HDD. With v.1.0, I opened a web site, clicked on a download link, and followed instruction to start the download. Nothing happened. There was no data transfer via the modem, and the download managetr window did not appear. When opening the download manger window, everything was grey. When leaving the browser, there was no warning. Expected Results: With v. 1.0PR, the download manager should have shown "done" shortly after the data transfer had ended. There should have been no warning when leaving the browser. The downloaded file should have been on the HDD in the directory "downloads. With v. 1.0, the download manager should have appeared, the download should have started, and the download manager should have shown "done" shortly after completion of the download. There should have been no warning when leaving the browser, and the downloaded file should have been in the directory "downloads".

Does FProt have a TSR component? If so, does disabling it help?
