Details

When you put a go button on the right of the search engine bar, type a search
keyword and then hit the go button the url in the in the url bar is loaded
rather than the search engine.
That's by design.

Having a button to fire the search bar is bug 204691.  Duping do that bug since
that's essentially what you're requesting.
