This looks like a new bug with OS X 10.3.7. I have checked with 2 new
reinstalls of Firefox 1.0 and Firefox nightly build 1.0+ and get the same bug
appearing. It is 100% reproducible on my system (g4 733 DA Mac with 10.3.7).
To see the bug, visit any web page and then use Command + D from the keyboard to
bring up the save bookmark popup. Then try to edit the (blue) default name in
the popup--nothing happens with any key input. If the default name is accepted
and then the Manage Bookmarks pull down is used, the saved default name can be
renamed.
I cannot reproduce this bug on
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8a6) Gecko/20041231
Firefox/1.0+

I had this problem on one nightly build but after getting a new build the
problem was gone. Did you try a new Firefox profile?
