275991 - irc color codes cause text controls to act strangely (cosmetic)

If irc color codes are pasted into any text control in firefox 1.0, the text
will be rendered incorrectly and many different oddities will occur.  For
example, if control+k(in mirc) 1,15 is pasted several times into the address bar
and then the text is selected, the first character (a box) will not be selected
and the blinking cursor will appear in the wrong location (pressing the delete,
backspace, or arrow keys causes unexpected results because the location of the
cursor is different from where it is being rendered)..  here is a screenshot

      if you have any problems viewing this image I can send it via email to any
address needed.  This was tested and reproduced on several computers before I
submitted.

steps to reproduce: 

step 1: paste control+k 1,15 several times into the address bar (actual amount
appears to be arbitrary)

step 2: press the left arrow key several times and note the incorrect cursor
position

step 3: press the delete key a few times and note the incorrect cursor position
and text rendering bug

None of the bugs I duped have a comment stating that this is present in the
Firefox 1.5 beta. An 1.0.x build is out dated for confirming this type of bug.
