The last line of the FTP readme states

"We do not guarantee that any source code or executable code 
available from the mozilla.org domain is Year 2000 compliant."

I trust that (6 years after Y2K) this is merely some forgotten relic? ;-)

I don't know whether those laws have been relaxed or not, but last I heard we
were required by law to say that because there hasn't actually been any thorough
audit to determine for a fact if that's actually the case (only depending on
people to report bugs when they find them).  However unlikely it is, we don't
know, and thus can't say we do.

However, I have no clue about whether those laws are still around or if that's
still the case, that's just my personal theory on it.

 we don't need the y2k language anymore, so if its there delete it. Nick says it gone. Dbaron suggests its still there. should be assigned to someone who can remove it. /hja

It was still there a year ago.  It's not there now.
