User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 When you scroll down the website, there's a list of window messages. However, everything works fine unless you scroll down WM_PAINTICON, below this line nothing is being repainted properly. Selecting text seems also not to work. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open the sample URL 2. Find WM_PAINTICON in the list 3. Scroll up and down a little to see the problem Actual Results: Firefox doesn't crash, it just doesn't repaint these areas properly Expected Results: The text should be painted properly.

Does this depend on the font size? What font size do you use?
I'm using the standard font size of windows xp (i guess 10 or 12pt). My guess that firefox/gecko creates one huge device context and draws everything inside, it's just that device contexts have a limited size (don't remember how large they can be). Again, it's just a guess.

strange... this does not affect all of the page. starting with the paragraph "Es liegen natürlich neben dem C++-Sourcecode auch die beiden Perlskripte bei", things paint correctly. (can reproduce on winxp, trunk, nightly build 2005012005)

and yes, using text zoom to make the font smaller does seem to help
As it's an embedded frame (iframe?) i guess the repainting is done by tanslating the screen coordinates to coordinates relative the the client area. I'm pretty sure there are some limitations of bitmap sizes. haven't looked at any code though...

On WinXP, the device contexts can be pretty darn big....

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
