User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 After somebody has first rated an extension, theme, etc. there is no "Rate this ..." link available. Example: DictionarySearch - Thunderbird Extension (already rated) https://addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=thunderbird&version=1.0&os=Windows&id=68 Comments page: https://addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=thunderbird&version=1.0&os=Windows&id=68&&page=comments No link available for Rateing the Extension... Of course Joe-normal-user would know to add "&page=opinion" to the link to be able to rate it... ;-))) Add a link "Rate this" with the "...&id=<nnn>&page=opinion" to both these pages. PS: I rated this as major as it is a major loss of functionality. PPS: couldn't find this in the DB either... looks like the update web pages are not getting enough bug reports. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open an https://addons.update.mozilla.org/ page that has already beed rated 2. Look for a link to rate the extension 3. Fustration... Actual Results: Fustrated search. Expected Results: Easy click on "Rate this" 1-5 stars.

This may be something as simple as completely different wording for the link when it's being shown w/ none.

I see this too, so...Confirming bug, as some people see this omission as lack of openess on Mozilla's part.
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
We've specifically removed some functionality from the site right now. You may be encountering that.

My understanding is the link is commented out as part of the disabling that has occured to the live site. Its not really a bug in Update but rather the implementation. (The link for no comments hasn't been commented out.) There's no reason for this to be 2.0..
Severity: major → critical
Target Milestone: 2.0 → 1.1
There's no reason for this to be marked critical. It was on purpose and is not a core function of the site.

Severity: critical → normal
I agree it's not critical, but it's very frustrating to see ratings, and yet not be able to leave your own. If rating plug-ins has been intentionally removed (as per above comments), then why SHOW any previous comments? Perhaps replacing the "Leave comment/rating..." link should be replaced with "Comments and ratings no longer allowed" or "... temporarily disabled"

(In reply to comment #9) > > *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 276577 *** Well it is not "resolved" and 276577 is actually the other was a follow up bug (and not a duplicate) of this one.. ;-) but it really makes no difference. The reason I am replying at all, is that it seems to me that the resolution has been better discussed here than there. The fact stands that the "opinion" link is still not available (for reasons discussed above) so I would leave the bug open until the link is reactivated. Just my two cents.
